The GodFather's Friday Night Skate

Well skaters are you ready to roll - again? Back in 1989 when the Loma Preita earthquake shook up San Francisco, my friends and I started skating on the closed... Embarcadero Freeway for fun!!! It was so much fun we grew from just a hand full of skaters to over 800+ every Friday night!!! The Friday night Skate was born!!!

For 26 years I organized this fantastic event and it spread around the world. But now I have the Church of 8 Wheels Roller Disco and last year I had to stop doing the Friday Night Skate to spread rolligion at what is now the Friday Night Roller Disco. Well now my son has taken over the DJ duties and I can now return to the Friday Night Skate - but not like before!!!

This Friday night we will present the GodFather’s First Friday FNS!!! This is a once a month Friday Night Skate led by the GodFather of Skate. We’ll meet the Ferry Building at 8:30 P.M. on the first Friday of every month. We’ll roll out at 9:00 hitting all the City’s hot spots like Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf, Aquatic Park, the Palace of Fine Arts, Union St, The Broadway Tunnel, the Stockton Tunnel, Union Square, the Concrete Canyons – the same route we have long established, but with an emphasis on a funky good time!!!

All are welcome. We’re not racing and no one will be left behind. You can skate, ride a bike or choose your way of rolling with us!!! The event is free!!! The experience is San Francisco one of a kind!!! Come be a part of it.
